
Ancient Tower in Grigori Following the road to the mainland on the west side of the river Meganitis, via the route that leads far from Agios Konstantinos to the mountainous Districts Lakka - Toumba, we proceed always to the south and arrive fast at the municipality. From the village’s square we can see at the opposite the position Tower on a hill at an altitude of about 550 meters. On top of the hill there is an ancient circular building that belongs to a defensive tower of the Hellenistic period, having a diameter of 9m. The ancient tower in this position that oversees the entire western coastline of Aegio, served as a control point of the ancient road leading from the beach to the mountainous hinterland. The ancient building is visible and can be reached that the visitor following the rural road north of the main square.
