Located near the Roman Odeon. It was the first cathedral of Patras. The same named church in the Upper Town was constructed after the Greek liberation using copies of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. It is a basilica with copper-covered domes. In the place where it stands there was an ancient temple of Olympian Zeus. The first temple was built in 900 AD and later turned into Koursoum Mosque. It has two watches, which one shows always "5 after 5” the time that Patras was bombed by the Italians during the WWII.
