 Over Saravali at an altitude of 860 meters, lies the Monastery of Omblos which the Albanians in the region called Ompil ie sweet Virgin Mary. Three forts, the Saravali,  Sidirokastro and Sarakinokastro surround and protect the monastery built in the 15th century on the ruins of an existing monastic retreat dated 1315. Remarkable is the wealth of relics kept in the monastery as the Silver Cross Blessing of 1789, three pieces of the True Cross, two images of the Virgin and Child dated 1730 and 1817, holy relics and rare collection of books and documents. The monastery celebrates on November 21.
