Set in a beautiful natural environment, between the villages of Kalanistra and Kalanos belonging to the municipality Farron, is located the Monastery of Panagia Chrysopodaritissas, the Vergin (Panagia) with the miraculous foot that hastens to help when invoked. According another version, the name is due to the healing of the foot of a believer by Virgin Mary. The monastery during the Greek revolution was used as a refueling center of the Achaean military camp and often accepted the visit of Bishop Paleon Patron Germanos. Before the founding of the monks monastery, in the area there were retreats. The first temple was a cave with stalagmites and in its walls frescoes are preserved. It is celebrated on August 23.
